Green Industry Center Conducts Technical Study to Supply an Armed Forces Facility with Solar Energy
As part of its efforts to promote sustainable energy solutions, improve energy efficiency, and provide technical consultancy services to various sectors, a technical team from the Green Industry Center conducted a field visit on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, to an Armed Forces facility to assess the feasibility of supplying the facility with a solar energy system.
The visit forms part of the Center’s programs aimed at supporting the transition toward renewable energy sources and providing engineering solutions that contribute to improving energy efficiency and reducing reliance on conventional energy sources, in line with the principles of sustainable development and the green economy.
The technical team’s work included conducting a field survey to collect technical data and assessing the facility’s electrical loads in preparation for the technical studies required to determine the appropriate capacity of the solar energy system and identify its components. This will help ensure the highest levels of efficiency and reliability in meeting the facility’s electricity needs.
The visit also included an initial assessment of the project’s estimated financial cost and the preparation of a comprehensive technical report containing the necessary proposals and recommendations to support decision-making regarding the project’s implementation in accordance with best technical and engineering practices.
This initiative reflects the role of the Green Industry Center in providing technical consultancy services and promoting the application of renewable energy, while contributing to the wider adoption of solar energy systems across various sectors. These efforts support more efficient resource use, help reduce carbon emissions, and contribute to Libya’s transition toward green industry and sustainable development.
