About the Center
In light of global environmental challenges and the need to adopt sustainable industrial practices, the idea of establishing a Green Industry Center in Libya emerged as an important step toward promoting sustainable development, supporting the green and circular economy, and advancing the concept of cleaner production. The Center seeks to provide an enabling environment for research and innovation in the fields of sustainable energy and resource management, while improving the efficiency of industrial production in line with the principles of green industry and the circular economy. It also works to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors and direct investment toward clean and sustainable technology projects.
Center Mission
The Green Industry Center works to support the sustainable transformation of the industrial sector by providing consultancy, studies, research, training, and technical services; transferring and localizing clean technologies; enhancing energy and resource efficiency; calculating and managing carbon emissions; promoting innovation and investment in green industries; and building national capacities. These efforts contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of Libyan industry and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Center’s Social Responsibility
The Green Industry Center fulfills its social responsibility by promoting a culture of sustainability and green industry, raising awareness of environmental protection and resource efficiency, and aligning industrial development with community needs and priorities. The Center supports initiatives and programs that improve quality of life and increase public awareness of energy, energy efficiency, cleaner production, and the circular economy. The Center also seeks to build effective partnerships with educational and research institutions, the public and private sectors, and civil-society organizations to enhance knowledge and expertise exchange and support community participation in sustainable-industry transformation programs. It places particular emphasis on training, capacity building, developing national expertise, and enabling young people and professionals to acquire the skills required in green industry and sustainable energy.
The Center’s social responsibility also includes supporting awareness initiatives, scientific activities, workshops, and seminars for different community groups. These efforts help reinforce positive environmental behavior, stimulate innovation, and encourage responsible industrial practices. Through this role, the Center seeks to be an effective national partner in achieving sustainable development and building a more aware society capable of protecting its resources and improving its economic and environmental future.
Green Industry Center
Our Team
The Green Industry Center brings together national professionals specializing in green industry, energy efficiency, renewable energy, carbon footprints, research and development, training, and consulting. It also includes specialized scientific and technical committees that support its advisory, research, and training activities and assist in preparing studies, evaluating initiatives, and developing programs related to sustainable industrial transformation. The work of the team and committees integrates technical experience, scientific knowledge, and field practice, enabling the Center to serve the industrial sector efficiently and contribute to projects and initiatives that support sustainability, optimize resource use, and improve the environmental performance of industrial institutions.
