Green Industry Center Explores Cooperation with RG Catalyst Algeria in Sustainable Industry and Green Economy
As part of its efforts to expand partnerships and strengthen cooperation with regional and international institutions and companies, the Green Industry Center received a delegation from RG Catalyst Algeria at its headquarters on Thursday, 25 June 2026, to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in the fields of sustainable industrial development and the transition toward the green economy.
The delegation was accompanied by the Chairman and a member of the Carbon Footprint Committee of the Libyan Iron and Steel Company. The delegation was received by Dr. Mustafa Al-Aaib, Director General of the Green Industry Center, along with department and office directors and a number of researchers at the Center.
The meeting opened with a welcoming address by the Director General, who welcomed the visiting delegation and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with specialized institutions in support of the transition toward sustainable industry. He also delivered an introductory presentation highlighting the establishment of the Center, its areas of specialization, and its key programs and projects, as well as its strategy aimed at supporting the industrial sector, improving resource and energy efficiency, adopting sustainable industrial practices, and promoting the concepts of the green economy and cleaner production.
For its part, RG Catalyst Algeria delivered a presentation outlining the company’s development, areas of operation, and experience in providing technical consulting and industrial development services, in addition to its key projects and services in the fields of sustainability and innovation, which contribute to supporting industrial institutions and improving their performance.
The meeting featured extensive discussions between the two sides, during which they exchanged expertise and perspectives and explored a number of ideas and proposals for developing joint cooperation. The discussions also addressed opportunities for establishing future partnerships in the fields of green industrial transformation, carbon footprint management, improving resource and energy efficiency, and developing sustainable industrial solutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining communication and coordination and developing cooperation mechanisms that support the exchange of expertise and the implementation of initiatives and projects of mutual interest. Such efforts would contribute to advancing sustainable industrial development, strengthening the principles of the green economy and innovation, and enhancing the competitiveness of Libya’s industrial sector
