The Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) awarded the Deputy Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mr. Mustafa Ali Al-Sammo, an Honorary Doctorate in Government Administration, in recognition of his significant contributions to supporting sustainable industrial development, his role in establishing the Green Industry Center, and his efforts to advance the transition toward green industry and a green economy in Libya.

The honorary recognition was presented on the occasion of the conclusion of the Certified Green Energy Manager (GEM) international diploma program, organized by the Green Industry Center in cooperation with the Global University of Science and Technology and the World Green Economy Council, with the participation of a number of engineers and specialists from various national institutions.

The honorary doctorate recognizes the efforts of Mr. Mustafa Ali Al-Sammo in supporting national initiatives aimed at building human capacities, developing the industrial sector, and promoting the principles of sustainability and cleaner production. It also acknowledges his support for the establishment of the Green Industry Center as one of the institutional pillars supporting Libya’s green industrial transition.

This recognition highlights the importance of national efforts to develop the industrial sector in accordance with international best practices and to strengthen scientific and institutional partnerships that contribute to developing national expertise and supporting the transition toward a more efficient and sustainable green economy.

The Green Industry Center affirmed that this recognition represents an incentive to continue implementing high-quality programs and initiatives that support sustainable development, strengthen the position of Libya’s industrial sector, and contribute to achieving the Ministry’s vision of a modern national industry based on innovation and efficient use of resources and energy.
