As part of its efforts to support energy efficiency and build national capacities in the field of energy management, a team from the Green Industry Center participated on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the Technical Workshop to Validate the Results of the Assessment of the Needs of Energy Managers and Energy Auditors in Libya. The workshop was held at the headquarters of the Renewable Energy Authority in Tripoli, as part of the STEP Project, implemented with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The Center’s participation reflects its role in supporting national initiatives aimed at developing the energy management system, enhancing resource efficiency, and contributing to the preparation and qualification of national professionals capable of leading programs for the transition toward sustainable energy.

The workshop included a review of the findings of the assessment of the current state of energy management and institutional capacities in Libya. It also addressed international comparisons, key training needs, criteria for selecting energy managers and energy auditors, nomination and certification mechanisms, as well as the proposed training plan and upcoming implementation steps for developing the national energy management and auditing system.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for participating institutions to exchange expertise and discuss international best practices in energy management. These efforts contribute to developing institutional and technical frameworks, enhancing the capabilities of national professionals, and strengthening the readiness of institutions to implement energy management systems in accordance with international standards.

The participation of the Green Industry Center reaffirms its commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, promoting the optimal use of resources, and building effective partnerships with national and international institutions.
